The boarding school environment enables Jerry to merge academic excellence with practical problem-solving approaches which he applies in projects delivering measurable results. Jerry aims to pursue neurobiology or neuroscience while drawing inspiration from how brain health connects to daily activities, especially the importance of sleep. His interest in sleep and brain health inspired him to create Better Sleep Initiatives which teaches teens about the influence of rest on their thinking abilities, emotional stability and school performance. Jerry is actively involved in multiple global issues beyond sleep health including food waste reduction efforts along with environmental protection initiatives and Alzheimer’s research. Jerry demonstrates clarity, compassion, and innovative approaches whether he promotes healthier school habits or investigates memory and cognition neuroscience. He represents a new generation of changemakers who merge scientific knowledge with social awareness to create healthier and more sustainable futures.

  • Outreach & Wellness Lead,Elsa Wu

    As a Florida boarding school student Elsa Wu combines her academic focus on biology with her personal commitment to wellness practices and youth mental health. Her ability to merge scientific knowledge with mindful living enables Elsa to contribute a distinctive perspective to the Better Sleep Initiatives team by connecting research findings with practical applications. Her interest in biology and human physiology together with brain health inspired her to study sleep’s impact on both hormone regulation and emotional stability. Elsa uses her scientific knowledge to transform her daily routines through student mindfulness leadership and promoting restorative school schedules. Beyond her academic work Elsa achieves balance by practicing meditation and journaling while her love for K-pop keeps her energized and inspired. Her dedication to sleep education focuses on reaching teens who face academic pressure and constant technology distractions in today's fast-paced school environment. Elsa believes that consistent small changes in sleep routines and self-care practices lead to significant overall improvements. In her position at Better Sleep Initiatives she works to implement that vision throughout communities nationwide.

    Carrie Ling combines her high school education with a strong analytical mind and significant dedication to environmental sustainability and social equity while practicing evidence-based advocacy. Her leadership at Better Sleep Initiatives stems from her recognized abilities in data analysis and systems thinking. Her data analysis skills across school surveys and teen sleep habit trends and wellness program evaluations make her an essential team member. According to Carrie real change starts with decoding the numbers related to the issue because she shows deep commitment to implementing data-driven decisions in education and public health fields. Carrie is dedicated to environmental protection and social justice issues which shape her comprehensive perspective on health equity. She understands sleep as both a personal wellness strategy and a public health challenge that presents social equity implications affecting students based on their individual schedules and responsibilities as well as their environments. Carrie's work focuses on amplifying underrepresented students' voices while making certain that all initiatives maintain standards of fairness along with accessibility and measurable results.

    Adrian Cheng attends public high school while passionately working to protect the environment and advocate for student wellness and mental health. Adrian demonstrates innate entrepreneurial skills and creative problem-solving abilities that he brings as fresh energy and innovative ideas to Better Sleep Initiatives to help drive outreach efforts and create scalable wellness campaigns. He has direct experience with mental health concerns because he has personally observed students who battle academic demands while enduring digital distractions and insufficient sleep. Adrian works to create school environments that nurture both academic achievement and student well-being. Adrian combines his dedication to wellness with environmental sustainability and regularly examines how climate health relates to community health. His entrepreneurial mindset enables him to transform major concepts into practical solutions led by students which includes starting school wellness challenges and forming partnerships to broaden the initiative's impact. Adrian holds the conviction that students play active roles as powerful change-makers in both health and educational systems. His leadership transforms sleep health and mental wellness into more accessible and creative community-driven solutions.
