about our initiative

The student-led Better Sleep Initiative focuses on teaching teenagers about better sleep practices while implementing scientific research into real-life lifestyle modifications. We investigates the relationship between good sleep and decreased stress and anxiety while noting improved mental and physical health through surveys, personal diaries and peer discussion. Attendees at the workshop learn about sleep cycles and circadian rhythms through neuroscience research and discover how electronics and late-night studying impact these essential bodily functions. Through implementing bedtime routines along with limiting screen exposure and practicing mindful eating and physical activity teens learn how to manage their sleep patterns which leads to healthier lifestyle decisions that improve academic success and emotional resilience while promoting a healthier life.
